Prime Minister Narendra Modi jointly addressed the Indian diaspora along with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Tel Aviv Convention Centre on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister has announced that people of Indian origin in Israel will get the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards even if they have undergone the compulsory army service in Israel.

He also said that direct flights would be launched between Delhi, Mumbai and Tel Aviv to encourage people-to-people relations between the two nations.

Hailing Israel, particularly its innovations and scientific advancements, he said the country has demonstrated that the number and size does not matter but it is the spirit that matters.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the aims and achievements of his government and said ‘Make in India’ has become a brand taking everyone by surprise.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian diaspora amid chants of "Modi, Modi" that filled the Tel Aviv Convention Centre as PM Modi began his address to Indian Jews in Israel.

Speaking on the cultural ties between India and Israel, he added that the Jewish nation had links with India dating back to centuries.

The Prime Minister also met three prominent Indian-origin Israelis who are recipients of Pravasi Bharatiya Samman.

The two Prime Ministers celebrated India's unique Jewish heritage through a visit to the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.

The leaders visited three main exhibits. The highlight of the tour was a stop at the replica of the Kadavumbagam synagogue from the town of Cochin in southern India, built in the 16th century.
