Meet the dabbawala for elderly in Mumbai

Meet the dabbawala for elderly in MumbaiUpdated on : 17-05-2017 01:04 PM
Dabbawalas are a lifeline for many in Mumbai but not all do it to earn a living.

Mark D'Souza has been delivering tiffins to the elderly every day, free of cost and he has been doing it for over 3 years now. DD News broadcast this story last year and did a reality check recently of the tiffin service's impact.

Food being cooked in a kitchen - that's a familiar sight at our homes. But this kitchen is special. Food cooked is supplied in tiffins to at least 50 senior citizens who stay away from their families for various reasons, in Mumbai's Borivali.

This is an initiative of Mark D'Souza who has been supplying healthy and nutritious food to the elderly.

Mark's selfless service has personified the words of Mahatma Gandhi - 'The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others'.
